Raw’s Viewership Soars as it Tops Television Ratings in Key Demographics

WWE Raw made a triumphant comeback on Monday night, reclaiming its usual levels of viewership with a remarkable 1.82 million viewers and an impressive 0.56 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic. These numbers marked a substantial increase from the previous week when the show faced stiff competition from the climactic NBA playoffs.

Raw’s dominance was undeniable, as it secured the top spot in 18-49 and 18-34 viewership across all of television. Additionally, the show emerged victorious in every key demographic among cable programming. While it ranked ninth in total viewership, it surpassed seven news shows and came in behind only the Louisiana State vs. Wake Forest game in the college baseball World Series, which garnered 2.02 million viewers and a 0.45 rating. Raw’s exceptional performance solidified its position as the second-highest-rated program on television for the night.

This week’s 18-49 rating for Raw stands as its highest in the past five weeks, underscoring the show’s resurgence and ability to captivate audiences. The significant increase of 14 percent in viewership and 22 percent in the 18-49 demographic from the previous week is a testament to the show’s magnetic appeal.

Compared to the same time last year, Raw experienced a slight decline of eight percent in viewership. However, it showcased impressive growth with a three percent increase in the 18-49 demographic and a notable nine percent increase in the 18-34 demographic. Adjusting for the difference in the number of households with cable, the actual percentage of available viewers decreased by three percent, but the 18-49 demographic saw a commendable nine percent growth, and the 18-34 demographic soared by 15 percent.

The first-to-third hour drops in viewership were relatively mild, with a five percent decline among women aged 18-49, men aged 18-49, and men aged 12-34. The only significant drops occurred among women aged 12-34 (14 percent) and viewers over 50 (13 percent), contributing to the decrease in third hour viewership.

The highlight of the third hour was the electrifying match between Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn versus Dominik Mysterio, Damian Priest, and Finn Balor, which added an extra layer of excitement to the show.

Here’s a breakdown of viewership for each hour:

– 8 p.m.: 1.89 million viewers
– 9 p.m.: 1.90 million viewers
– 10 p.m.: 1.68 million viewers

As WWE Raw continues to deliver exhilarating entertainment, its resounding success without the competition from the NBA playoffs underscores its ability to captivate audiences and maintain its position as a top-rated sports entertainment spectacle.
