In a rare gathering, AEW referees share their experiences, insights, and a few laughs on ‘Hey! (EW)
In a recent episode of ‘Hey! (EW)’, AEW referees Aubrey Edwards, Bryce Remsburg, Rick Knox, Paul Turner, Mike Posey, and Stefan Smith sat down with host RJ City for a candid discussion about their roles in the ring.
The conversation took a humorous turn when RJ City suggested harmonizing their referee counts. “When I say go, you’re gonna count to three in silence using only your hands to prove that all the counting is the same,” he proposed. The result was a comedic cacophony of silent counts.
Aubrey Edwards, known for her work in video game development and the AEW gaming department, was asked about a pitch for an AEW game that never made it. She humorously replied, “One starring you.”
When asked about the difference between a street fight, a no disqualification match, and a no holds barred match, Stefan Smith humorously responded, “Which one do I get to wear jeans for?”
Rick Knox, when asked about the 1994 Dennis Leary movie ‘The Ref’, shared his appreciation for the film. “It was kind of funny. I actually saw it at the time when it came out, and Dennis was pretty funny in it. It was pretty good, actually,” he said.
The episode concluded with a playful scenario where the referees were asked to react as if they were witnessing various violent scenarios. The referees’ reactions, ranging from shock to amusement, provided a lighthearted end to the discussion.
