AEW Progressing Towards Finalizing New Contracts with Top Stars

Exciting developments are unfolding within AEW as several key contracts are approaching their expiration dates. Negotiations for new deals involving prominent talents are reportedly gaining momentum.

Fightful’s Sean Sapp, who shared insights accessible through Fightful’s paywall, revealed that “The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Adam Page have all been negotiating new AEW contracts this year.” While the deals are not yet finalized, both parties have expressed a sense of closeness to reaching agreements. This sentiment has remained consistent for several months, according to sources within AEW. Despite CM Punk’s return to the company, insiders express confidence that the Elite will continue to remain with AEW. However, there has yet to be an official update on the Elite’s willingness to collaborate with Punk, although creative plans for several of them have been in the works for some time.

Furthermore, it was disclosed that Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks have retained the services of Barry Bloom as their representative. A highly regarded agent, Bloom boasts an impressive roster of clients, including Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Bill Goldberg.

It’s important to note that Omega’s contract was extended due to his absence caused by injury. Given factors such as injury time, option years, and other variables for all four wrestlers, it remains challenging to pinpoint the exact expiration dates of each deal.

Sources within WWE have indicated that the company would express interest in all four talents should they become available. However, it is emphasized that WWE does not anticipate this scenario unfolding anytime soon, and they are not currently permitted to engage in any discussions with these individuals. Although rumors circulated last year suggesting that the Young Bucks had reached out to WWE, sources close to them have vehemently denied such claims.

According to insiders, the prevailing expectation within AEW is that each individual will continue their journey within the promotion, likely with substantial financial advancements.

As this situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how negotiations will ultimately conclude. These significant contract discussions are undoubtedly important for both AEW and the talents involved.
