A Show-Closing Brawl Marks the Comeback of Two AEW Stars

AEW Dynamite’s latest episode ended with a bang as Will Ospreay and Eddie Kingston made their return to the ring in a show-closing brawl. The episode saw Hangman Page and the Young Bucks triumph over the Blackpool Combat Club. However, the real drama unfolded after the match.

The Blackpool Combat Club launched an attack post-match, but Kingston came to the rescue, targeting his ROH rival, Claudio Castagnoli. Konosuke Takeshita then joined the fray to assist the Blackpool Combat Club, leading to Kenny Omega stepping in to balance the odds. Omega managed to take out Takeshita, but the ring was soon invaded by Ospreay who superkicked Omega and landed a couple of Hidden Blades.

The brawl set the stage for a highly anticipated match between Omega and Ospreay for the IWGP United States Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. The tweet from All Elite Wrestling capturing the mayhem read, “Absolute mayhem has been unleashed as Konosuke Takeshita blindsides Eddie Kingston and Kenny Omega takes aim at Takeshita. But Will Ospreay sets the tone for Forbidden Door.”

The return of Ospreay and Kingston, coupled with the post-match brawl, has certainly heightened the anticipation for the upcoming AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event.
