Braun Strowman Faces Setback with 15% Paralysis in Leg

Braun Strowman, the powerhouse of professional wrestling, finds himself temporarily sidelined due to neck surgery. However, the road to recovery may prove longer than anticipated as he confronts a significant challenge that has emerged.

Wrestlers endure grueling physical demands inside the squared circle, and Braun Strowman is no stranger to the toll it takes on his body. In a candid conversation with Fightful, Strowman revealed the disheartening news that he currently suffers from 15% paralysis in his right leg, necessitating a change in footwear.

“In this line of work, you never know what to expect. My feet have been presenting some unusual issues. The arch of my right foot has collapsed, and my left leg is dealing with 15% paralysis. That’s why I made the switch to these new shoes, a U.K. brand called [Vivobarefoot], which helps strengthen my feet. I do feel a bit guilty for betraying my beloved Crocs, though—they’re still my go-to for relaxing at home. These new shoes provide a more business casual look. They say I need to dress up, and this is as good as it gets,” admitted Strowman.

During the interview, Strowman also reflected on his hiatus from WWE, having been released during the pandemic and given the opportunity to pursue his own endeavors. While initially challenging to accept, the time away allowed him to regain his mental well-being and appreciate the significance of his career within WWE.

“We had a few conversations, and I genuinely enjoyed my time off. It was tough to swallow at first, but I soon realized it was something I needed. At the time, I was mentally struggling—not just with WWE, but with various aspects of life,” Strowman explained.

“It became a chance for me to step back and truly grasp the incredible opportunity I have to work here, and how immensely blessed my career has been. In my short stint with WWE, I accomplished so much—from winning Money in the Bank to becoming Universal Champion, Tag Team Champion, Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner, and Intercontinental Champion. I headlined numerous pay-per-views and sold out arenas. Stepping away made me realize, ‘Wow, I’ve done a lot.'”

“However, I despised being away. I absolutely love this business, and I’ve always believed that I was born to do this and be a part of this company,” Strowman added.

Strowman expressed his joy at returning to WWE and the upcoming WrestleMania, despite uncertainties surrounding his involvement. With a last-minute inclusion, he relishes the opportunity to share the grand stage with fellow wrestlers who have yet to experience their own WrestleMania moments, acknowledging their years of dedication on the independent circuit, at the Performance Center, and now on the main roster.

“It feels great to be back home. Walking into WrestleMania, there were some doubts about my participation, but we’ve worked things out and secured a spot. It’s truly incredible because I’ve had my share of WrestleMania moments, and now I get the chance to create those moments with individuals who haven’t had their WrestleMania breakthroughs. These are wrestlers who have poured their hearts and souls into this business, day in and day out, whether on the indies, in the Performance Center, or on the main roster. Now, I have the privilege to step into that ring and share this special occasion with them, knowing firsthand just how remarkable WrestleMania can be.”
