Shawn Michaels Addresses Release Requests from WWE NXT Superstars
While WWE provides a thriving environment for many professional wrestlers, it may not be the perfect fit for everyone. Following the closure of NXT UK, a number of talents migrated to NXT in hopes of finding success. Unfortunately, the Grizzled Young Veterans’ journey hasn’t unfolded as expected.
Previously known as the Dyad, the Grizzled Young Veterans joined Joe Gacy’s Schism stable in NXT. Although this provided them with a favorable position, they eventually expressed their desire to be released from WWE. Despite their requests being denied, the duo has indicated that they do not intend to stay.
During the NXT Battleground press conference, Shawn Michaels addressed the release requests made by the Dyad. Michaels conveyed his commitment to nurturing talent in NXT, stating that the brand is eager to work with those who are willing to put in the effort to grow.
PW Insider covered the press conference and shared the following details regarding Shawn Michaels’ comments:
“When asked about the Grizzled Young Veterans requesting release and not being granted, Michaels expressed his initial interest in bringing them over from the UK, hoping that all talents could find success within WWE. Regardless of who joins WWE, he wants to help them achieve success in the industry as a whole. While understanding their sentiments, he holds no ill will and still envisions significant roles for them. As long as they are willing to work, he is open to utilizing their talents.”
The future of the Schism faction remains uncertain, as it is likely that only Joe Gacy and Ava will remain in the group. Only time will reveal the decisions made by the Dyad as they contemplate walking away from a favorable position with WWE.
