Liv Morgan’s Injury May Set the Stage for a Significant Character Change, According to Bryan Alvarez
Liv Morgan, who previously held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Raquel Rodriguez, suffered a shoulder injury that has uncertain her recovery timeline. As a result, WWE had to crown new champions in her absence, which could lead to a much-needed transformation in Liv Morgan’s character.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez shared a theory that Liv Morgan could adopt a heel persona upon her return. Given Raquel Rodriguez’s swift partnership with Shotzi, Morgan’s absence has opened the door for intriguing possibilities.
Supporting this idea, Dave Meltzer added that Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were intended to be something other than a long-term tag team. Their pairing was a result of Ronda Rousey’s injury, as WWE sought to buy time and fill the void.
Interestingly, Becky Lynch recently acknowledged that her WWE Women’s Tag Team Title reign with Lita was not originally planned. The belts were initially designated for Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, but Rousey’s injury forced WWE to alter their course. With Rousey and Baszler now participating in the upcoming 4-way match, it remains to be seen if WWE revisits their original intentions.
While fans will feel Liv Morgan’s absence, her eventual return will undoubtedly bring joy. Additionally, she recently secured an exciting movie role alongside Charlotte Flair. As for whether a dramatic heel turn awaits Morgan and Flair, only time will reveal the trajectory of their characters upon their return to WWE.
