In a recent development, the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles have been declared vacant due to an injury suffered by Liv Morgan during last week’s SmackDown. This news was shared on social media, stating that new champions will be crowned on the May 29 edition of Raw. The highly-anticipated four-way match will witness Raquel Rodriguez joining forces with a yet-to-be-revealed partner as they step into the ring against formidable opponents. The teams of Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler, Bayley & IYO SKY from Damage CTRL, and Sonya Deville & Chelsea Green will all vie for supremacy in this intense showdown.
The injury occurred when Morgan was on the receiving end of a kick during a title match against Damage CTRL on SmackDown. Originally, Morgan and Rodriguez were scheduled to defend the titles against Green & Deville on the most recent episode of Raw. However, due to Morgan’s injury, the match had to be postponed. Instead, Rodriguez competed in a singles match against Green and emerged victorious.
Following that match, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler made a highly-anticipated return to WWE television since WrestleMania, launching an attack on Rodriguez.
It is worth noting that Rodriguez and Morgan claimed the titles on the April 10, 2023, episode of Raw. They emerged victorious by defeating Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus, with Stratus substituting for Lita on that occasion.
With the titles now vacant, the upcoming four-way match on Raw presents an exciting opportunity for new champions to emerge and make their mark in the highly competitive WWE Women’s Tag Team division.
