In the latest WWE Draft, fans were eager to see the new rosters in action. However, concerns have arisen regarding the lack of depth in the women’s division on the red brand. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it seems that Rhea Ripley and Becky Lynch are set to compete for the RAW Women’s Title, as it appears to be one of the few ready-made feuds they have to offer. Meltzer stated, “The single women’s title picture really looks like Ripley as champion against Lynch.”
Rhea Ripley has proven to be a dominant champion, and it’s unlikely that she will settle for a short title reign. However, with limited options on the red brand, Ripley may find herself without a worthy opponent. The report also mentioned the lack of depth in the SmackDown women’s roster, but suggested splitting up a team and putting Rodriguez and Morgan in a babyface slot. The report also suggested that Ripley could remain a dominant champion without an opponent, unless Baszler & Rousey get the titles, and they are moved into the top babyface singles slot.
As for the other women on the roster, the report suggested that Zoey Stark, Piper Hartwell, or even Niven could mix it up at the top. Natalya was noted as the ultimate utility player who can always be plugged in as a star. While WWE could push someone like Lacey Evans into a main event spot, only time will tell how successful that will be.
It remains to be seen how WWE will shake up the rosters and who will emerge as the top contender for the RAW Women’s Title. Keep checking back with Ringside News for the latest updates on this story and everything else going on in the world of professional wrestling.
