Why AEW Has Decided to Cancel AEW Dark and AEW Dark Elevation?

Published on

AEW is shaking things up as they move forward with their plans for the future. As they prepare to unveil a new show, the company has announced that they will be cancelling two of their currently running programs.

According to Andrew Zarian’s report, AEW Dark and AEW Dark Elevation will be cancelled for a very good reason. Although this may disappoint some fans who enjoyed watching AEW on YouTube, the company has bigger plans in the works.

AEW is preparing to reveal a new Saturday program, which will come with the condition that all of their content is only available through Warner Bros Discovery. As a result, their two Dark shows will no longer be able to continue.

In a statement, AEW said, “AEW Dark and Dark Elevation have ended for the time being. This in part has to do with AEW signing a new deal for AEW Collision to air on Saturdays. Part of the new deal is that AEW Wrestling content will exclusively air on WBD. As of today, this doesn’t include ROH.”

Although some fans may feel nostalgic for the weekly YouTube shows, AEW’s upcoming Saturday program will provide them with a fresh offering to appreciate. Even though AEW Rampage will persist according to the current schedule, AEW was forced to make difficult choices to keep pushing forward.
