WWE fans have been wondering why Carmella has yet to be seen on television since before WrestleMania 39 when her tag team partnership with Chelsea Green was unexpectedly dissolved. However, the reason for her absence has finally been revealed: Carmella is expecting her first child with husband and WWE commentator Corey Graves.
The news was announced by Carmella herself during an appearance on Good Morning America, where she discussed the ups and downs of her pregnancy journey so far. While she admitted to feeling cautious at first due to her past experiences, Carmella shared that she has been trying to maintain a positive mindset throughout this pregnancy.
“It’s just all been such a whirlwind. I think because of my past, it was hard to get excited off the bat about this one, but I was cautiously optimistic. I try to have a good mindset, a positive mindset this time around, and it’s working. So I’m very happy about that,” Carmella said.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion also opened up about her struggles with infertility and how this pregnancy has been a journey for her. She revealed that after the first positive test, she took additional tests for weeks to make sure the news was real.
“I mean, I took [additional tests] for weeks just to make sure they still said positive. So it’s really just been such a mind work to get my head around. But the fact that I’m here, I’m on the other side of it, I’m almost out of the first trimester at this point … it’s been quite a journey,” she shared.
Carmella and Corey Graves have previously spoken about their struggle with miscarriage, and the WWE star has been applauded for her bravery in sharing her story. The couple’s fans have also shown their support for the couple on social media, congratulating them on this exciting news.
After Carmella announced the pregnancy on Good Morning America, she also took to Instagram to share the news with her followers. Alongside a photo of herself and Graves holding a baby onesie, she wrote, “After every storm there is a rainbow; our little miracle is due this November, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”
The WWE community has been quick to send their well-wishes to the couple, with many expressing their excitement for the arrival of Carmella and Corey Graves’ first child together. It’s clear that the Princess of Staten Island and her husband have a lot of love and support behind them as they embark on this new chapter in their lives.
