As the dust settles from last year’s high-profile departures of Naomi and Sasha Banks from WWE, it seems that the two talented wrestlers have found new homes in different companies. Banks, now known as Mercedes Mone, has taken up residence in NJPW, while Naomi, aka Trinity Fatu, has recently made her debut with Impact Wrestling.
In an exciting development, reports emerged earlier this week that Naomi was set to make her debut with Impact Wrestling. She has chosen to go by her real name, Trinity Fatu, in the company. Interestingly, Naomi abandoned a trademark for the name “Trinity Starr” just a week prior to her debut.
Fatu made a splash in her debut appearance at a Chicago television taping event. She arrived with her own black light entrance and took the ring by storm. It’s clear that Impact Wrestling has big plans for her, as she was seen in the ring with Deonna Purrazzo during the taping event. Stay tuned for full spoilers once they become available.
It’s worth noting that Trinity Fatu had some significant support backstage during her debut. Her longtime friend Mercedes Mone, who made the journey all the way from Japan, was there to cheer her on. While Mone did not make an on-camera appearance, her presence was felt and added to the excitement of the moment.
