Mercedes Mone’s recent contract extension with NJPW and STARDOM has raised several questions amongst wrestling enthusiasts. However, a recent report has shed light on some of the details regarding the duration of her contract extension.
According to Fightful Select, Mone’s contract extension with Bushiroad was signed before her match at STARDOM All-Star Grand Queendom, where she lost her championship to Mayu Iwatani. Members of Mone’s team have reportedly confirmed that her contract is currently set to expire after NJPW Resurgence on May 21st.
While sources within NJPW were unable to confirm the length of the deal, they have stated that no matches are scheduled in Japan “at least for a while” and have not indicated any specific matches in the future. Sources from both NJPW and STARDOM have praised Mone’s performance and indicated that she had enjoyed her time with them.
The report also suggests that Mone and STARDOM are open to working together in the future, but it may require a larger renegotiation due to the improved business for her appearance.
