Lita’s return to WWE in January to assist Becky Lynch in her feud with Damage CTRL was a major moment for wrestling fans. The duo went on to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships after defeating Dakota Kai and IYO SKY, marking Lita’s first title reign in 17 years. However, Lita’s run in WWE may have come to an end, according to recent reports.
PWInsider reports that WWE has no immediate plans for Lita. This news comes after she was attacked backstage by an unknown assailant on the April 10 edition of WWE RAW. As a result, Trish Stratus was brought in as Lita’s replacement for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match, which Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez won.
Despite her current absence from WWE programming, it is anticipated that Lita will return to the storyline at some point. Meanwhile, Lynch and Stratus are set to continue their feud following Stratus’ recent heel turn. In a recent interview, Stratus hinted at her character taking on a new direction, which was confirmed on the April 17 episode of WWE RAW when she revealed that she was the one who attacked Lita.
While it remains uncertain when or if Lita will return to WWE, her fans will surely be eager to see her back in action in the future. In the meantime, seeing where Trish Stratus’ character goes next after her shocking revelation will be interesting.
