Injuries are always a concern for professional wrestlers, and AEW has had their fair share of injuries on their roster. However, the absence of Thunder Rosa has created a void in the women’s division that has been hard to fill. She was AEW’s women’s champion at the time of her departure, and now there is growing concern that her injury might require surgery.
Although Thunder Rosa has been seen on recent AEW broadcasts, she has been relegated to the Spanish language commentary booth. While this is a great role for her, her fans would much prefer to see her back in the ring. In fact, Thunder Rosa even apologized to the AEW roster for leaving them without a women’s champion for such a long time.
According to Sean Sapp, who dropped a note about Thunder Rosa behind Fightful’s paywall, the wrestler is still not medically cleared. Moreover, there are growing fears that surgery may be necessary to correct her back issue. Sapp stated that “Thunder Rosa is still not cleared and there is concern that she may require surgery to repair her back.”
Thunder Rosa is a former AEW Women’s Champion, and the company has clearly shown interest in pushing her. However, her absence from the ring has been a setback, and if surgery is indeed required, she may need even more time off to recover.
