According to a recent report by PWInsider Elite, WWE and ESPN are currently engaged in discussions regarding potential collaborations on new projects. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has confirmed these reports. Endeavor, the new owners of WWE, is being led by Ari Emanuel, who previously negotiated UFC’s deals with ESPN.
While it’s been noted that another promotion has also had discussions with ESPN, it has yet to be confirmed to be AEW. The talks are preliminary and likely centered around ESPN+. However, the other company currently has a deal elsewhere.
ESPN has reportedly expressed interest in featuring wrestling on its streaming service. However, WWE is currently under contract with Peacock until 2025, which could complicate matters. It remains to be seen how these talks will progress and what kind of new projects may come out of this potential collaboration.
