4/19/2023 AEW Dynamite Rating News

Published on

Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite brought in an average of 830,000 viewers on TBS, marking a 4.2 percent decrease from the previous week. The numbers represent the lowest audience total for the show since February 15 and the second-lowest of the year so far.

Dynamite secured a 0.28 rating in the 18-49 demographic, finishing seventh on the cable charts, with the same rating as the previous week. The 0.28 rating is tied for the show’s lowest since March 15 and is its fifth-lowest of the year.

While Dynamite’s ratings declined from the previous week in most categories, the show saw an increase in viewership among young women. Women aged 12-34 increased by 8.3 percent, while women aged 18-49 increased by 18.8 percent. The biggest decline in viewership came from men aged 12-34, which were down by 18.5 percent.

Dynamite aired live on the West Coast due to TBS’ coverage of a United States vs. Mexico soccer game, airing head-to-head against the NBA playoffs on TNT and the NHL playoffs on ESPN.

Compared to the same week in 2022, with similar competition but in its regular West Coast time slot, Dynamite’s overall audience was down 10.8 percent, while its 18-49 rating was down 24.3 percent. This marks the 18th straight week the show has seen a year-over-year decline.

Below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo ratings for Dynamite, as well as the 10-week averages in all categories. This week’s show was down 5.9 percent in overall viewers and down 3.4 percent in 18-49 compared to the recent averages. Despite the dip, AEW continues to be a strong player in the wrestling industry and has built a loyal fanbase over the years.
