Sting, the wrestling legend, surprised fans with an appearance on AEW Dynamite during a segment featuring MJF and Darby Allin. MJF started taunting Allin, claiming that Sting was Allin’s “father,” which Allin denied, saying that Sting was his best friend in the company.
As per his surprise appearance on AEW Dynamite, Sting gave a rousing speech where he declared that though his “showtime” is almost over, it’s just the beginning for Darby. He promised that Darby would become a World Champion and asserted that he’s Darby’s supporter, similar to how Ric Flair was for him. Sting also made a reference to Cody Rhodes being MJF’s supporter during his time in AEW and even namedropped other wrestlers he has worked with, such as Kevin Nash and the late Scott Hall.
The segment concluded with a disrespectful act from MJF as he spat in Darby’s face before making his exit. Prior to the segment, Darby had already started the night off with a win in the opening match against Swerve Strickland.
Since his debut in December 2020, Sting has played an important role in AEW, serving as a mentor and role model for younger wrestlers, particularly Darby Allin. His regular appearances on the show have become a common occurrence, delighting fans who enjoy seeing the wrestling legend in action and providing valuable guidance and support to the up-and-coming stars of AEW.
