Andrade El Idolo recently gave an interview with Lucha Libre Online at WrestleCon, where he spoke about his contract with AEW and his injury status. Despite being out of action since August due to a torn pec, Andrade confirmed that he is still with AEW, but his contract will expire soon. He underwent surgery for the injury in November, which required a break from the ring for four months. However, he revealed that he is currently undergoing therapy and will soon be returning to the ring.
“I’m with AEW, to make it clear. Soon my contract will expire. I had a tear in my chest and I got surgery in November. I was out for 4 months but soon I’ll be back. I was at the Hall of Fame accompanying my wife and to be next to a great friend Rey Mysterio… He’s the symbol for all the Latinos, Rey Mysterio,” Andrade said.
In addition to discussing his injury, Andrade also shared his experience attending the Hall of Fame ceremony and expressed his admiration for Rey Mysterio, who he considers a symbol for all Latinos. Andrade, who was present to support his wife Charlotte Flair, also offered her some valuable advice before her WrestleMania match.
Andrade made his AEW debut on June 4, 2021, during an episode of Dynamite. If rumors are to be believed, Andrade’s contract with the company is a two-year deal that will expire in about two months if an extension is not added to the agreement.
