As fans know, Vince McMahon recently sold the WWE, but he still holds a position of power within the company. While Endeavor is now the controlling owner of WWE and plans to merge it with UFC into a new publicly traded company, Mr. McMahon is still expected to play a role in the company’s creative direction.
During an appearance on CNBC, McMahon was asked about his level of involvement in WWE’s creative side. While he admitted that he wouldn’t be “in the weeds,” or involved in the day-to-day aspects of creativity, he made it clear that he would still make the big calls.
“Yes and no, on a higher level, yes, in the weeds, which I have always been in the weeds in the past, no, can’t do that,” McMahon stated.
It remains to be seen just how involved McMahon will be in the creative process moving forward, but fans will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on any changes to the product. McMahon has always been a major presence backstage in WWE, and it will be interesting to see if he remains a consistent figure in the Gorilla Position.
