WWE WrestleMania 39 Saturday Press Conference Recap

Published on

Following the conclusion of WrestleMania 39 on Saturday, a press conference was held in Los Angeles featuring several notable WWE figures. Rhea Ripley, who made history by becoming the first grand slam champion, spoke about the satisfaction of achieving that milestone. She said that making history is what she strives for in her career and felt fulfilled in achieving that goal.

Rey Mysterio, a legendary wrestler who has been in the business for decades, reflected on his emotional journey leading up to his match at WrestleMania 39. He spoke about the honor of riding to the ring with Snoop Dogg, a fellow musician and wrestling enthusiast. Mysterio also mentioned that much of what he did on Saturday was to pay tribute to Eddie Guerrero, a beloved wrestler who passed away in 2005.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who won the Undisputed Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 39, gave credit to Super Dragon and PWG for helping to get them to this point in their careers. Zayn also spoke about the sense of finality to their storyline, but suggested that it could always be revisited in the future. Owens ended their interview by mentioning two other names that played a role in their success: Jay and Mark Briscoe.

Triple H, a former wrestler turned executive, spoke about the impressive sponsorship and attendance records set at WrestleMania 39. He praised Charlotte Flair, one of the most dominant female wrestlers in the industry, as a “generational athlete”. He also commended Rhea Ripley for her growth in recent years, comparing her to Roman Reigns, one of the most iconic wrestlers of his generation.

When asked about the decision to put the Undisputed Tag Team title match in the main event, Triple H explained that it was about choosing the most impactful storyline. He felt that the Owens & Zayn vs. The Usos matchup resonated the most with fans and was the clear choice for the main event.

Finally, Triple H was asked about the possibility of Bad Bunny wrestling at Backlash in Puerto Rico. He praised recent celebrity performers like Logan Paul and offered to speak with Bad Bunny if he was interested in getting in the ring. The press conference provided an opportunity for WWE’s biggest stars to reflect on the event and offer their thoughts on the future of the industry.
