This will be Edge’s Last WWE Run

Published on

WWE fans, it’s official – Edge is on his final run with the company. The Rated-R Superstar has made a triumphant return to wrestling in 2018 after nearly a decade of retirement, facing off against some of the biggest names in the business and even headlining WrestleMania 37 in 2021. But as he approaches 50, Edge is acutely aware that his time in the ring is limited, and he has no desire to become a hindrance to the younger talent coming up through the ranks.

Despite his successful comeback and high-profile matches, Edge has expressed his desire to retire before he becomes a burden on the company or the roster. In an interview with Sirius XM, he stated that he doesn’t want to be the guy that young talent like Austin Theory looks at on the lineup sheet and groans because he knows he’s going to have to work hard. Instead, Edge wants to inspire the next generation of wrestlers, just as he was inspired when he saw his own name next to Mr. Perfect’s.

It’s a sentiment that shows just how much Edge cares about the business of wrestling and the legacy he’s built for himself. As one of the most popular and respected figures in WWE history, Edge has been a role model for countless fans and wrestlers alike. And even though he’s on his final run, he’s still striving to make an impact and leave a lasting impression.

While Edge still has goals he wants to achieve – including a dream of retiring in his hometown of Toronto and participating in a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania – he knows that this will be his final run. Fans of Edge should savor every moment of his matches, including his upcoming bout with Finn Balor inside Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 39. As Edge himself has made clear, he doesn’t want to overstay his welcome and risk tarnishing his legacy in WWE.

It’s a sentiment that’s been echoed by many in the wrestling community, who recognize just how much Edge has accomplished and how much he’s contributed to the sport. From his early days in WWE as a member of the legendary tag team Edge and Christian, to his later years as a top singles competitor and eventual Hall of Famer, Edge has always been a fan favorite and a wrestler’s wrestler.

And even though his time in the ring is now limited, there’s no doubt that Edge will continue to make an impact on the world of wrestling. His legacy is secure, and his passion for the sport is as strong as ever. As WWE fans, we should all be grateful for the opportunity to witness one of the all-time greats in action, and we should look forward to the incredible matches and moments that still lie ahead on Edge’s final run.
