Former WWE Superstar Nigel McGuinness Joins ROH Following Release

Published on

The wrestling world was left stunned when Nigel McGuinness was released from WWE in October 2022, as many believed he would continue with NXT Europe. However, McGuinness made another surprise move last night by returning to Ring of Honor.

At the Supercard of Honor event in Los Angeles, McGuinness made a shocking appearance and announced that he would be doing commentary for the show. As a former ROH World Champion, McGuinness has a history with the company and his return was met with excitement from fans.

Prior to his WWE release, McGuinness had been a major part of NXT UK as a commentator alongside Andy Shepherd. He had also been calling matches for NXT: Level Up.

Although he has previously expressed interest in a potential in-ring comeback, McGuinness has stated that he is currently taking things one step at a time. It is unclear at this time whether he has signed a deal with ROH or is simply doing commentary for the event.
