According to a report by Sports Illustrated on Thursday, the Motor City Machine Guns, consisting of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, have renewed their contracts with Impact Wrestling. However, the details of their new contract remain undisclosed.
Shelley and Sabin, who have previously held the Impact Tag Team titles three times, expressed their delight at continuing to work with Impact’s locker room. “Impact is like family to us,” Sabin said. Meanwhile, Shelley explained that he pursued physical medicine, but once he had that security and confidence, he wanted to be back in Impact as it has the most familial bond.
The Motor City Machine Guns will compete in a four-way match against Ace Austin and Chris Bey, Aussie Open, and TMDK for the Impact Tag Team titles at Impact and NJPW’s Multiverse United event in Los Angeles on March 30.
Additionally, Shelley, Sabin, and Kushida are scheduled to fight Impact World Champion Josh Alexander, Rich Swann, and Frankie Kazarian in a six-man tag match at Sacrifice on March 25.
In addition to their work with Impact, Shelley and Sabin also hold the NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship and the GCW Tag Team Championship.
