In professional wrestling, Bill Goldberg’s recent free agent status has caught the attention of top executives in the industry. Tony Khan, the head of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Ring of Honor (ROH), expressed his interest in Goldberg during a podcast interview promoting ticket sales for AEW’s upcoming event, Double or Nothing.
Khan, who has previously interacted with Goldberg through charitable connections with the wrestler’s family in Jacksonville, Florida, spoke highly of the athlete’s career and character. “I have a lot of respect for Bill. He’s a household name in pro wrestling, so it’s interesting to hear that he is a free agent. He’s one of the biggest names in wrestling and certainly will be something else to keep an eye on for us,” Khan stated.
Goldberg returned to WWE in 2016 after a 12-year hiatus, has successfully run with the company, winning the WWE Universal title twice. However, his contract with WWE expired at the end of 2022, leaving him open to pursue opportunities with other wrestling organizations.
As one of the most prominent figures in professional wrestling, Goldberg’s free-agent status is certainly something to keep an eye on for AEW and other companies in the industry. While his last match was in February 2022, it remains to be seen where Goldberg’s future in wrestling will take him.
