After conflicting reports regarding her status following her collapse on NXT TV, former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez has been given clearance to return to in-ring action. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer revealed on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Perez is “okay, cleared, and will be worked back into storylines as soon as – probably starting tomorrow’s show (Tuesday). Somehow, they’re going to get her back in the mix.”
Meltzer clarified that Perez’s issue was not an injury but a situation that could have kept her out. The angle on TV with her collapse and stretcher job was done as a backup, but since Perez received a good report, she will be worked back into the television programs.
After Perez’s departure, NXT vacated the women’s title and started crowning a new champion at NXT Stand & Deliver. It remains to be seen how the return of Perez will impact the women’s division, but fans can expect her to make a splash and make up for lost time.
