In last week’s WWE Main Event, fans got a glimpse of newcomer Dante Chen, who made his main roster debut in a match against Cedric Alexander. Chen, the first Singaporean to compete in WWE, had a lot to prove and was determined to use this opportunity to introduce himself to the Main Event audience.
Chen started the match strong, focusing on Alexander’s arm. However, he got distracted by Shelton Benjamin’s presence at ringside, allowing Alexander to take control of the match. Despite Chen’s best efforts, Alexander dominated the rest of the match and secured the win with his signature Lumbar Check move.
In another match on the card, Trick Williams faced off against Akira Tozawa. Williams, who made his Main Event debut last December, was looking for his first main roster win. Tozawa, on the other hand, was motivated by his loss to Williams’ friend Carmelo Hayes on last week’s show.
Williams took an early advantage with a pop-up punch, but Tozawa fought back with a downward spiral and some high-flying moves. Despite Williams’ efforts to regain the upper hand, Tozawa ultimately won the match with a powerful senton off the top rope, sending Williams back to NXT.
Overall, while the night featured some new faces and exciting matchups, the matches themselves could have been better and fully engaged the audience. Fans will have to wait and see what the next Main Event has in store for them.
