Attention all TV fanatics! Paramount+ has just announced that they are developing an exciting new original series called Vice City (working title). The show collaborates with Lionsgate Television, Paramount Television Studios, and the talented team at Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit Film & Television. It is set to be a thrilling ride!
The upcoming series, Vice City (working title), is centered around three comrades and ex-servicemen who make their way back to their hometown of Miami in the mid-1980s. However, upon their return, they are dishonorably discharged from the military, as they were implicated in the Iran Contra scandal. With no job prospects and feeling forgotten by the country they served, the trio teams up with a mysterious Colombian immigrant and embarks on a life of crime, forming a daring heist crew. As they pursue the American Dream, fueled by the need for American green, they navigate a violent and dangerous path.
The show is the brainchild of writers and executive producers Darnell Metayer and Josh Peters, who worked together on the upcoming Transformers movie Rise of the Beasts. They are joined by executive producer and director Chad Stahelski, best known for his work on the John Wick franchise.
Fans of 50 Cent’s previous work will be excited to hear he is also involved in the project through his production company, G-Unit Film & Television. 50 Cent has already made his mark on the TV world with the hit Starz series Power, which he starred in, executive produced and directed. He has also expanded the Power universe with several spin-offs and announced projects in development, including three BMF spin-offs and the British boxing drama, Fightland.
With Vice City (wt), Paramount+ is aiming to deliver a gripping new series that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. We can’t wait to see what this talented team has in store for us!
