Yo gamers, WWE 2K23 just announced the 14 matches featured in the John Cena Showcase mode. As you may know, WWE 2K games usually have a Showcase mode focused on a superstar, group, or era in WWE history. And this time, they are doing something different.
Usually, in Showcase mode, you control the wrestler and relive their greatest victories and moments. But in WWE 2K23, they’re flipping the script. Instead of playing as John Cena and taking down his opponents, you’ll be playing as Cena’s enemies in some of his most significant losses in WWE.
This is a fresh take on the Showcase mode and should make for some exciting gameplay. So, without further ado, here are the 14 matches you’ll get to play in the John Cena Showcase mode in WWE 2K23:
WWE 2K23 John Cena Showcase Matches:
John Cena vs. Kurt Angle (SmackDown 2002)
John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar (Backlash 2003)
John Cena vs. The Undertaker (Vengeance 2003)
John Cena vs. Edge (New Year’s Revolution 2006)
John Cena vs. Rob Van Dam (ECW One Night Stand 2006)
John Cena vs. Edge (SummerSlam 2006)
John Cena vs. Triple H (Night of Champions 2008)
John Cena vs. Batista (SummerSlam 2008)
John Cena vs. Randy Orton (Hell in a Cell 2009)
John Cena vs. The Rock (WrestleMania 28)
John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar (SummerSlam 2014)
John Cena vs. AJ Styles (SummerSlam 2016)
John Cena vs. The Undertaker (WrestleMania 34)
John Cena vs. Roman Reigns (SummerSlam 2021)
This is an impressive list, but some fans may notice that there are a couple of matches missing. For example, John Cena’s Money in the Bank 2011 loss to CM Punk, where Cena lost the WWE Championship and his job, is not included. Also, Cena’s SummerSlam loss to Daniel Bryan is not featured. However, both CM Punk and Daniel Bryan are currently signed to AEW, which might explain their absence.
WWE 2K23 launches on March 17 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Get ready to play as Cena’s enemies and experience his greatest losses!
