Dragon Lee surprised everyone at the AAA Noche de Campeones event in Acapulco, Mexico, on December 28th, 2022, by announcing that he had signed with WWE. Tonight, during NXT Roadblock, the innovative luchadore finally made his WWE debut, captured by WWE cameras as he watched all the action from the crowd during the six-man tag team match. It’s worth noting that Triple H, who was once the head booker of the black and gold version of WWE NXT, used to debut new signings similarly.
Unfortunately, due to visa issues, Dragon Lee couldn’t appear during the NXT Vengeance Day event. Still, he was spotted backstage at the WWE Performance Center before his highly-anticipated arrival on Shawn Michaels’ version of NXT.
WWE became interested in Lee when they noticed AEW put him on television without a contract. Notably, Lee first appeared for Tony Khan’s promotion on the August 17th, 2022, episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite. He teamed up with fellow La Facción Ingobernable members Andrade El Idolo and RUSH in the opening round of the AEW World Trios Tag Team Tournament.
