FTR Makes a Return to AEW During AEW Resolution

Published on

In a highly-anticipated matchup at AEW Revolution, The Gunns (Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn) successfully defended their AEW World Tag Team Championship against a formidable field that included The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens), Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal, and Danhausen and Orange Cassidy.

However, the post-match segment took an unexpected turn when FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) made a surprise appearance to confront the champs. The crowd erupted as the two elite tag teams engaged in a fierce brawl, with FTR ultimately gaining the upper hand and taking out The Gunns.

Unfortunately, the intensity of the confrontation led to an accidental cut suffered by Dax Harwood, adding to the moment’s drama. It’s clear that tensions between these two teams are at an all-time high, and fans are already speculating about a potential rematch in the future.

The Gunns must regroup and recover from this hard-fought battle while FTR looks to continue its dominance in the AEW tag team division. One thing is for sure – the action at AEW Revolution did not disappoint, and fans can’t wait to see what’s in store for these talented athletes in the weeks and months ahead.

With their contracts expiring in April, FTR’s future in AEW is uncertain. As of this writing, whether the highly-regarded tag team has chosen to re-sign with the promotion or explore other options in the wrestling world is still being determined.

The duo had been on hiatus since losing the IWGP World Tag Team Championship to Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17, which only added fuel to the speculation about their plans. While FTR has enjoyed great success in AEW, including a run as AEW World Tag Team Champions, the allure of other promotions and opportunities may be too great for them to resist.

As fans eagerly await news on the status of FTR, one thing is sure – their impact on the tag team division in AEW has been undeniable, and they will always be remembered as one of the top teams in the industry.
