Firearm Charge Results in Arrest of WWE’s Sonya Deville

Published on

Sonya Deville, a 29-year-old WWE wrestler, was arrested on February 19 in Atlantic City for possessing a firearm without a permit. A valet found the firearm in her vehicle and then alerted the police. Deville had reportedly started carrying the weapon following a home invasion incident in August 2020. She has a permit for the firearm in Florida but not New Jersey, where the arrest took place.

Deville has the charges thrown out and will appear in court later this month. In August 2020, a man was arrested on Deville’s property for aggravated stalking, armed burglary, attempted kidnapping, and criminal mischief. Deville and her fiancé were recently featured in PEOPLE magazine after getting engaged in Towaco, New Jersey.

Deville’s last match on WWE programming was on February 10, where she teamed up with Chelsea Green in a losing effort against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on SmackDown. She also participated in house shows in Illinois over the weekend, where she lost to Charlotte Flair in a four-way match.
