For over two months, tensions have been brewing between Mustafa Ali and Dolph Ziggler, but now they will have a chance to settle their differences in the ring. WWE has announced that Ali and Ziggler will face each other one-on-one on the next edition of “Raw” in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, marking their first match against each other in nearly four years.
The conflict between the two wrestlers began in early December when Ali was allowed to challenge Austin Theory for the United States Championship. However, Ziggler interfered and attacked Theory, resulting in a disqualification and leaving Ali empty-handed. A month later, WWE official Adam Pearce offered Ziggler and Ali a spot in a tag team turmoil match with the chance to earn a future title shot against the “Raw” Tag Team Champions, The Usos. But Ziggler opted to seek revenge against Solo Sikoa instead, who had previously attacked him and other “Raw” locker room members. Despite Ziggler’s efforts, Sikoa defeated him in the match.
Later, Ali expressed jealousy towards Ziggler and hit him from behind backstage before their match in a six-way number one contender’s match for the United States Championship on the January 16 edition of “Raw.” The two wrestlers will finally settle their score inside the ring on Monday.
