The crowd was incredibly hyped during the entrances and ring introductions, as seen in the highlights of the wrestling match. After a four-minute wait, Roman gained an early advantage but Sami was quick to bait him out of the ring and execute a tope con giro. Sami relentlessly struck Roman in the corner and hit a diving elbow, but only got a one-count. Roman retaliated with a right hand and dominated the match for a prolonged heat segment, during which he taunted Sami’s family members seated at ringside.

Fourteen minutes into the match, Sami avoided a clothesline and landed one of his own, taking the fight to Roman outside the ring. Sami climbed the ropes, but Roman cut him off with a sudden attack. Sami recovered and hit a sunset bomb for a two-count. Despite Roman blocking Sami’s Blue Thunder Bomb and hitting a Rock Bottom, Sami managed to counter a Superman Punch into a corner exploder. He followed up with a Superman Punch of his own, then hit the Helluva Kick for a near fall that had everyone on the edge of their seats.

Roman attempted to avoid another Helluva Kick by exiting the ring, but Sami went for a dive and was stopped by a punch from Roman. Sami executed a Spear, sending Roman through the barricade, then hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for another near fall. Unfortunately, when Sami went for the pin after a Helluva Kick, the referee was unable to count because he had been knocked out earlier by Roman.

Jimmy Uso interfered and attacked Sami with superkicks and an Uso splash, but Sami kicked out of the subsequent pin attempt. Sami retaliated by taking out Jimmy, but Roman hit a Spear for yet another close near fall. Roman goaded Sami into slapping him and, when Sami tried to avoid a Superman Punch, he hit a second referee, causing a second ref bump. Heyman provided Roman with a chair, but Jey Uso blocked him from using it. Roman demanded that Jey use the chair on Sami, but he refused, causing Sami to inadvertently Spear Jey. Roman then attacked Sami with the chair multiple times and hit him with a Spear to secure the win.

After the match, Kevin Owens made an unexpected appearance and attacked the Bloodline. He powerbombed Jimmy through the announce table and then went after Roman with a chair, but Heyman intervened with punches. Owens responded by delivering a Stunner to Heyman, and Sami hit another Helluva Kick on Roman.
