Sasha Banks decided to depart from WWE as she was unwilling to comply with Vince McMahon’s intended booking plan. While Naomi also left with Banks, only Banks proceeded to make her NJPW debut under the pseudonym Mercedes Mone.
Interestingly, Triple H was supportive of Banks’ decision to leave WWE.
Mercedes Mone recently released a 22-minute-long documentary that takes fans through her journey from WWE to NJPW. During the documentary, Mone shared that Triple H and William Regal sent her text messages before her NJPW debut. Mone became quite emotional while recounting this, highlighting the significance of these messages to her.
There is speculation within WWE that Sasha Banks may eventually return to the company. Some individuals believe that this could be why she wasn’t brought into AEW, despite previous teases of her as “The Boss” before Saraya’s mystery partner reveal. This may also be a factor in why Tony Khan did not bring Mercedes Mone to AEW, as she may not intend to sign a longer deal that would prevent her from making a WWE comeback.
Only time will tell what the future holds for Sasha Banks, but she is making waves as Mercedes Mone. Moreover, WWE is supportive of her endeavors in NJPW.
