Ex-NJPW Talent Scheduled to Make NXT Debut in WWE

Published on

To support the company’s overall growth, WWE is continuously on the lookout for new talent. They periodically conduct tryouts to identify individuals who fit the WWE mold. Karl Fredericks, a former NJPW star, is one such individual who has caught the attention of WWE. He is slated to make his NXT debut.

On Thursday, WWE announced that Karl Fredericks, now known as Eddie Thorpe, will be making his in-ring debut on NXT Level Up. His first opponent will be Dante Chen. In addition to this match, there will be other singles competitions, such as Ivy Nile versus Valentina Feroz and Xyon Quinn versus Oba Femi.

Fredericks embarked on his wrestling journey in 2015, and in 2018, he joined NJPW as a Young Lion at the LA Dojo. He completed his training and graduated in 2020, and during his time as a Young Lion, he won the Young Lion Cup in 2019. Last summer, he made headlines when his NJPW contract expired on August 1, 2022. It remains to be seen how his upcoming in-ring debut will pan out.
