Sami Zayn has undergone numerous alterations to his on-stage persona throughout his career. He is regarded as the founding figure of NXT and is remembered as its “heart and soul.” In 2015, he transitioned to the main roster, and since then, he has made a lasting impact.
For those who have followed Sami Zayn since his days in NXT, you may be familiar with his classic theme song “World’s Apart.” This entrance music was closely tied to his early, charismatic babyface character and helped establish him as a standout performer in NXT, where he faced tough competition from Shinsuke Nakamura, Antonio Cesaro, and Adrian Neville.
On October 22, 2022, Sami Zayn introduced a new theme song during WWE SmackDown. The song, titled “This Is It,” marked a symbolic transformation of his character from a babyface to a heel. Despite having used this new theme for several months, he may be open to revisiting his original theme, “World’s Apart,” at the upcoming Elimination Chamber event.
During an interview with The Sick Podcast, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion discussed the possibility of resurrecting his original theme song in his home country of Canada for the premium live event on February 18. He will face off against Roman Reigns for the prestigious Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on this occasion.
“I mean, if it were going to come back, I feel like that would be the time in place to do it. I’ve said this in other interviews. I feel like it would kind of be taking a step backward. I think maybe a new song is in the cards, but I feel like that song, even though people have a real fondness for it, it seems. From a character’s perspective, it just feels like taking a step backward. At the same time, doing it for like a one-night thing in Montreal might be cool. I don’t know.”
