Seth Rollins offers his perspective on CM Punk

Published on

Seth Rollins boasts a distinguished career in WWE, having secured numerous world championship titles and engaging in iconic rivalries with some of the organization’s top athletes. Despite his success, Rollins never shies away from expressing his opinions, even when they may be controversial. In a recent discussion, he made some critical remarks about CM Punk; however, speaking negatively about Punk was not something he took lightly.

CM Punk’s time in WWE ended unexpectedly in 2014 after the Royal Rumble when he left due to his dissatisfaction with the company. He stepped inside the ring for seven years after debuting in AEW in 2021.

Many still harbor resentment towards CM Punk, including former colleagues such as Seth Rollins.

Seth Rollins caused a stir when he referred to CM Punk as a “cancer” during Royal Rumble weekend. In an interview with Fox Sports Radio, Rollins expressed regret for his comments about Punk and acknowledged the hurt those words caused.

Oh well I don’t need to repeat what I said about Chicago Phil in an interview last week but I’m sure if you need to, you can Google it. Look, the bottom line is, it’s the same thing as with Logan Paul.

Punk and Logan Paul are two different personalities but they’re both as selfish as it comes and if you’re not gonna help, then I don’t want you to be apart of our industry, I don’t want you to be apart of our company and that’s all there is to that.

And here’s the thing that I will say one thing about Punk and end it on a positive note with him: that guy has given my career so much that it pains me to have to say bad things about him because he helped me out, he really did.

He’s been a good guy to me for a lot of my career but for whatever reason, the past, maybe, six-seven years, he’s in a different headspace and we’re not on the same page and to see kind of what he’s done and taken, taken, taken it’s always about him, I’m not a fan. I’m just not a fan. Not a fan.

There’s a place for him man, he’s got a lot to give, I just wish his head was in a different spot.”

It remains to be seen whether CM Punk will return to AEW after a prolonged absence due to injury. Time will tell if Punk will ultimately return to the ring.
