Mandy Rose was a top performer and Women’s Champion in NXT, with a championship reign exceeding 400 days. However, her reign ended when she lost her title to the current champion, Roxanne Perez, at NXT New Year’s Evil. The next day, she was let go from WWE. Her release was reported due to her FanTime premium content subscription page.
The decision to terminate Mandy Rose’s contract was made after Matt Bloom informed Shawn Michaels about her FanTime subscription. Originally, Mandy was slated to lose the title to Perez eventually. However, upon learning of Mandy’s outside activities, Shawn had to expedite the NXT Women’s title change.
In her interview, Mandy talked about how her schedule has cleared up after she departed from WWE. She acknowledged that the shift had left her feeling a bit strange.
“I feel like it might not have hit me yet totally because it’s still kind of fresh and like you said I am still you know kind of busy doing stuff, but there was one day like last week I think it was when I was like OK this is a little weird like I got up I was you know enjoying my coffee and just kinda down and in my sweats still, and I’m like this is nice, but I’m like I have like nothing to do today like no plans not like you know not even a phone call nothing I’m like it’s a little weird. Yeah, I think it’s normal to have those moments, but I think it’ll hit me a little bit more too as time goes on “
Although Mandy Rose is thriving outside WWE, she was disappointed with the manner of her exit and the rushed plans that resulted in a lackluster win for current NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez.
