Piper Niven has returned, reclaiming her ring name at the 2023 Royal Rumble. When Niven debuted on WWE Raw in 2021, her name was changed to “Doudrop,” which wasn’t well-received by fans.
In interviews, Niven stated that adjusting to the Doudrop character was challenging as she was unfamiliar with playing a “happy-go-lucky, bubbly” persona.
Before entering the women’s Royal Rumble, Niven was absent from WWE TV since September 6th. Her last match was on WWE NXT, where she and Nikki Cross (then known as Nikki A.S.H.) lost to Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne.
Niven entered the 2023 women’s Royal Rumble at #18 but was ousted by Raquel Rodriquez. She took out Michin and teamed up with others to eliminate Nia Jax, who made her comeback after being released in November ’21. The winner of the women’s Royal Rumble was Rhea Ripley.
In a recent interview, Niven revealed a health scare related to COVID, with severe symptoms that doctors were concerned about in her heart. Fortunately, after multiple tests, she was cleared with a heart in excellent condition.
