The past week has been a whirlwind for WWE behind the scenes, with Vince McMahon returning as chairman and CEO and Stephanie McMahon stepping down from her role as a chief brand officer. Additionally, rumors have circulated about a potential sale of the company. With all these changes happening, it’s not surprising that the wrestlers in WWE are feeling uneasy and uncertain about their future. According to some reports, this is the current mood in the locker room.
Kofi Kingston, a seasoned veteran of WWE and former WWE Champion, has experienced a variety of situations during his tenure with the company, including some turbulent and uncertain times. In an interview with SHAK Wrestling, when asked about how he and his colleagues in the WWE locker room were coping with the current climate, Kingston shared his point of view.
“I think we all kind of have the same mentality,” Kingston said. “Whatever happens outside of the company is going to happen. We really have no idea what’s transpiring. But our role, again, remains the same. It’s go out there and put on great matches.
“That’s the one thing, regardless of whoever’s in charge, or whoever owns this, that’s what we’re going to do. That’s what we’re always going to do. That is the most important thing. I think the mentality for us is just to kind of have laser vision and keep putting on great matches. That’s what we’re going to do.”
Kofi Kingston is currently a part of the “WWE SmackDown” roster where he continues to team up with his long-time New Day partner Xavier Woods. Despite their success as NXT Tag Team Champions, the team has been impacted by a lingering injury that Woods has been dealing with. However, it’s expected that Woods will be able to perform regularly again by the end of the month.
